I know that assumptions are never a good thing, and yet again I made one I wish I had not.  I always wanted to do a milkmaid braid, but thought my hair was too thin and much too short to pull it off.  I finally  put this assumption to the test and googled YouTube videos until I found just the right one, and realized I was wrong all along!  I love the romantic look of this braid, plus it is quick and easy to do!  As I finished the braid I was instantly reminded of one of my favorite plays, The Sound of Music.  I took to the hallway, ran up the staircase as if I was on the Von Trapp estate.  Then I heard Collin yelling from the car, “babe, we are late!” which is unfortunately a recurring reality check from my typical daydream.  I rushed down the stairs, threw on some bracelets and Ray Bans, you know, just a few of my favorite things.

Collin drove as usual, is it a man thing or do all these guys just hate sitting passenger?  Eh who cares, I like having my chauffer so I will stop asking questions because I would rather enjoy the views as we drive away from a busy town.  I normally sit quietly enjoying the ride but this day I screamed, “STOP THE CAR!”  With panic and care on Collin’s face, he pulled off on the side of the road and said “is everything alright?!”  Of course everything is alright but do you see how beautiful this pasture is?!  Without a second hesitation I was off to run in the field singing, “The hills are alive with sound of musiccccc.”  Okay, so I was not completely done with my daydream for the day.  I clearly owe my boyfriend a get out of jail free card after this stunt, but I have no regrets as I smiled ear to ear and got back in the car to my nephew’s baptism.  Everyone loved my dress, it is a great look for me because you can dress it up or down depending on where you are going.  It is always able to turn some heads if you are headed to walk about town in the evening, like we did later on that day.  Were they turning their heads because of the outfit or my impromptu dancing and singing like I was Julia Andrews?  No one will ever know.  For now I say, so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye, I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
