Marysia Plaid Swimsuit

Plaid plaid plaid, I cannot get enough of it.  Well at least for this time of year, it would be hard to pull off a plaid bathing suit. However, Marysia has one that I have had my eye one, but I regress!  For winter, plaid is still my go-to choice.  As much as I love plaid, it is a style that can easily be flubbed.  Too much plaid can leave you looking like a lady lumber jack, and conflicting patterns and colors could make your outfit more confusing than a rubix cube.    To avoid the “pitfalls of plaid” just follow these simple steps.

Plaid itself had a lot going on, crossing patterns and multiple color by definition could overwhelm the eye.  I want people falling over because my outfit, not because I blinded them!  To control the noise level of a plaid shirt I used my patented technique of layering.   Yes, I am back to my vest for two reasons.  First, it takes down the amount of plaid showing and second it is wicked cold outside.  I am not going anywhere without being warm! This vest has a nice texture and is extra thick to provide that necessary warmth.  The fur-lined hood is an added bonus to protect that $40 blow out from the bitter windchill.  Always use protection in these conditions!

I added a stripe long sleeve shirt to accentuate the plaid and an extra layer of warmth.  This “Sweet Spot” Kate Spade Necklace is my all time favorite statement piece to help dress up any casual outfit.  This one is unfortunately sold out, however Guess makes a similar version that I posted.  Do not be afraid to venture out and find one that best suits your personality.

These Tory Burch travel ballet flats are perfect for comfort and convenience.  They come with a travel pouch so they make a more stylish version of the famous “fast flats”.  If you cannot tell, I am obsessed with anything gold, glitzy, and glittery.  Mix plaid with solid colors and dashes of glitz and gold and you will be walking down the street turning heads for all the right reasons during this chilly weather.

  1. Love the plaid look on you. It looks cozy, comfy and most of all cute. The vest is a nice addition to “tone down” the plaid but also for warmth. Great POP of white with your gloves and of course you know I LOVE those Tory flats. We’re Tory twins

You look Great, thanks for sharing.
