Winter is officially here! Brrrrrr! I would love nothing more than to find myself nestled under a blanket, bingeing on NetFlix with a cup of hot coco in hand from now till when ever my weather app tell me spring is here. That is but a dream and I must go out to face the cold weather just like everyone else. Only difference is that I will be doing my best to brave this arctic chill in style. Finding a outfit that is versatile, the perfect combination of warmth and style, is not an easy task. My first words of advice is that you can never go wrong with layers. The colder it gets, just add another layer. This is usually my go to strategy except for that one time it was -10 degrees and I added so many layers I looked like a snowball walking down the street. From my lessons learned about layers I cannot think of a better starting place than this H&M cow neck sweater. It is so comfortable and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The neckline is ideal for displaying a simple charm necklace, and pairs nicely with this plaid vest to give the outfit just enough “pop”. These Splendid ankle booties are wicked, no not Wicked like I am over here hanging with Glinda the Good Witch, although I wonder if she would like these booties but I regress! I mean wicked the way all us true New Englanders and I say when describing something that is beyond great. What makes these shoes wicked is that they are so comfortable and yet stylish that you can wear them practically anywhere! Lastly, I feel in love with this suede clutch from Theory, so much that I bought two! I mean a girl can never have enough purses right? I have it in both black and navy. It is large enough to carry around all the essentials that you need and matches with any outfit. So if the cold weather is giving you the blues, then plan a night out with friends or family and pull this outfit from the closet. You will be just the right amount of dressed up for most occasions and when someone says “those shoes are wicked!” you will now know to just smile and say thank you.
